NURSERY UPDATE

At six months pregnant I woke up at 3:30am and realized I had done absolutely nothing to prepare for this baby.

No discussion of what we will name her. No nursery prepping. No typical nesting. No shopping. Nothing!

It was that same Saturday morning that when my husband and daughter finally woke up, we went into full-fledged prepare-for-baby mode.

The current nursery was the typical “catch-all” room from our recent move, and Hadley’s room was in need of some major organization. Which is where we started.

Once that was done however, this baby still had no name, and the nursery was just an empty room. It didn’t take long however, for me to begin to dream up this nursery – and my first task at hand was convincing my husband to allow me to wallpaper a statement wall!

PEEL & STICK WALLPAPER

This convincing was no easy feat – but when I suggested a wallpaper that was literally a sticker, it quickly turned into an acceptable option!

It was actually really easy to apply. It definitely took the two of us, but we were able to get the full wall applied during Hadley’s nap one weekend! It’s a great way to add some character to a room, without the long term commitment (and hassle) of a typical wallpaper.

On the other wall, I wanted something simple and feminine.

One thing that you will notice, is that I have chosen quite a few wall features with words on them. This is something that is pretty consistent throughout our whole house. I love having these reminders on the wall, and am a firm believer that it’s important to speak life over your home, children and family. This is just one way I have chosen to do that!

I’m in love with all these small, functional details. And how sweet and feminine the room has turned out! Now the only things left at this point are packing our bags and picking out a name (no pressure)!

What are some of your “must do” things before your baby arrives? I would love to hear from you!
