Love is officially in the air! Today on the blog I’m sharing a few of our Valentine’s Day traditions and ways you can make the people you love feel extra special!
It is so fun to bring in some sweet decor to your home – and don’t overcomplicate it! I just grabbed some tape and construction paper and made a little banner for our hood in the kitchen! If your littles are old enough to use scissors, this is a great way to involved them.
Who doesn’t want to start every day with donuts and coffee?! This is such a special way to start the day out with a treat and make your family feel loved and special. One of us usually heads to our local Hyvee and grab fresh ones with coffee in the morning before the girls wake up!
One little way you can consider bring the Lord in to all of this is to start out the morning with a little family devotional, on 1 John 4:19 ” we love because He first loved us”, and spend some time talking about that and praying together as a family!
A fun and creative way to have a family dinner on Valentine’s Day is to make a “red” dinner. Last year was the first year we did this – and I think I’m going to coin it a tradition and do it every year! Make a dish (like lasagna) that is red! It matches the decor and the kids love it.
This year I also snagged a heart cupcake pan to make for the family as a treat – so I’ll be doing that as well!
One little gift idea for a teen (or yourself) is a Fujifilm Instax camera! I bought this last year and it has been so fun to have for special occasions. I cherish some of the photos I have taken on Christmas morning and other holidays with this little camera!
Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day with the people you love!
