We are back to reality from Mexico and I wanted to share a few things that I brought along and loved, and some things I learned the hard way!
I know sunscreen itself is a bit of a “hot topic” especially when it comes to applying it to kids. So I feel like I should start this off with I am no expert! I just want to protect my skin and I was really happy with these two for myself, and I didn’t burn as a result of using them!
I snagged this SPF 30 Pacifica Mineral Bronzing Sunscreen at Target right before we left and I really liked it! It smells amazing and has a super nice “glow” about it. I’m not sure I could call it bronzing, as it was more of a glow (with some coverage, which was nice too) than making me feel more tan. One thing I learned the hard way is that it will rub off on a white swimsuit! I put it on after I had my suit on right when we got to the pool and it looked like I got bronzer all over my white striped suit. Not a cute look! All that to say – I will definitely be using it again, just when I wear a darker suit.
The next was also something I grabbed right before leaving – Image Prevention SPF 50 moisturizer. I am so pleased with this moisturizer! I haven’t found an SPF moisturizer I really liked – most seem oily or a little stinky. This feels like a smooth, moisturizing, light-weight moisturizer and smells amazing. I don’t mess around with getting sunburned on my face, so SPF 50 is perfect!
SELF TANNING GRADUAL LOTION
You’ve heard me talk about this Vita Liberata Gradual Tanning Lotion before and how much I love it. I especially love it when I already have some color – this just helps to maintain it and keep it rich! I applied this once or twice on the trip before bed and I am so pleased with the color it gave me. It’s a great lotion and has minimal smell.
If you follow me on Instagram you already know I looked like Will Smith from Hitch by day three of vacation. My lip swelled up like crazy, likely from sunburn. So please, learn from my mistake and get yourself an SPF lip balm! I just ordered this one to try.
But my favorite lip treatment/chapstick I have ever used was actually gifted to me by a girlfriend at our favorite things galentines day party – and it’s called Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. Check out those reviews… 4.5+ stars and over 5k reviews! It is amazing. I used it constantly after my lip had that reaction and it’s almost already back to completely normal. It feels so good and moisturizing and is really pretty on!
Just wanted to share a few of my new favorites – and a few things I learned (the hard way, ha!) along the way. Let’s take good care of our skin! It’s the only one we get.
