MEET KATIE

Hey you guys! I’m just a working mama who loves anything pretty for my house, a good (easy) recipe, an outfit that feels as good as it looks and helpful tips and tricks to making life as a wife, mom, daughter, friend, employee… easier and more enjoyable. Come on in to my world and stay awhile!

This is my favorite corner of our house right now.

This is my favorite corner of our house right now. Not because it’s decorated with some new @studiomcgee at @target goodies, but because it’s the corner I spend most of my time. This is where I nurse, change diapers and where Breck sleeps on my chest most days (& most of the day). It’s where I have a good view of the main level to keep an eye on the girls as they play.

I’m a big believer in creating a home and space that you love. That makes you feel comfortable, inspired and brings you some peace. & that’s exactly what this corner does for me. 🤍

Ok I have a challenge for you. Pick a wall or nook

Ok I have a challenge for you. Pick a wall or nook in your house.. and paint it something bold this weekend. Just do it!! The great thing about paint is if you hate it, get tired of it, or just want a change.. it’s an inexpensive and easy fix. So give it a try! I painted this little nook on our main level @sherwinwilliams peppercorn a little over a month ago and I couldn’t be happier with it!

Some colors I’m loving are:
- SW Peppercorn (pictured above)
- SW Gauntlet Gray (the perfect dark gray)
- SW Coastal Plain (love this green!)
- SW Mega Griege (this pops beautifully against white!)
- SW Sea Salt (would be gorgeous in a powder bath!)

I can hardly believe it but Breck is one month old

I can hardly believe it but Breck is one month old today! 😭 He started smiling at me the last few days and I. Can’t. Handle. It. (swipe to see the gummy smile!)💀🥰 Also the double chin is here to stay I think 🤣.

Christmas decor is all down and it feels so fresh

Christmas decor is all down and it feels so fresh and clean! 🙌🏼 Found this little accent lamp for $10 at target and I loved it so much I bought another for our butlers pantry. Adds some interest and warmth to the space (especially in the evening)! Plus it’s a great way to add some light if you don’t have under cabinet lighting!

Kyle asked what I wanted to do for my birthday. Us

Kyle asked what I wanted to do for my birthday. Usually, I go to the spa with my mama for a facial, do some shopping and then Ky and I go out for a nice dinner in the evening.

But today, I just wanted to be home. I wanted to get some things in order around the house, play with the littles, spend nap time going over our goals for the year and spend the evening as a family.

There were a lot of hard, horrible things that came for 2020. Some of my dearest friends faced the most heartbreaking circumstances.

But when I reflect on my 2020 and what i learned, a realignment of my priorities is one thing I’m deeply grateful for. It caused me to slow and simplify in a way I’m not sure I would have (ever) without being forced to.

And today I reaped the fruit of that. A simple day at home with my favorite people. Being spoiled with an omelet and waffles, lots of birthday hugs and a nap time well spent with my man. (Shameless plug - I have a blog post going over how we set goals + themes for the year on my blog. it’s something we really believe in and enjoy doing!).

All that to say - Thank you so much for the birthday wishes. Lets make 2021 a good one!🤍

A fresh start to the new year... in our pantry 😂.

Wrapped up our pantry project late Friday night (with the exception of a backsplash, I really think adding one will be a nice touch!!) and now we just want to hang out in there 🤣. Felt so good to sort through all our food (friendly reminder to check your seasoning’s expiration dates 😮) and give everything a “home”!
